The design for this Coaster is not part of a refit, although it may appear otherwise. The assignment was to design a large motor yacht styled after the coaster that sailed between the shores of northern Europe in the 1960's. This was quite an interesting period. After the launch of the nuclear powered cargo vessel Savannah in 1962, streamlined designs became in fashion. This was particularly interesting because the streamlined superstructures were on pretty hulls with attractive sheer lines and fine waterlines. Later on, the client changed his mind, cancelled this design and asked us to design two other yachts instead.
