80 ft. Flying Fortress

The Flying Fortress has been designed along the lines of the American Streamline era of the 30’s and early 40’s. The time that aluminium alloys became strong enough to be used for aviation purposes. At the time it stood for state of the art engineering. And for the first time, engineers could combine strength and speed in a lightweight construction. As a result, every moving object had to be streamlined to be associated with speed. The design has been derived from the American WW2 B17 bomber plane, nicknamed the Flying Fortress. The construction is of composites, with mahogany finished hull and a silver metallic superstructure.
